How to Make Glowing Ghost Jugs

Kids Crafts by Three Sisters is on location in Southern California...and we had a few friends help us! Watch us turn empty water or milk jugs into spooky ghosts jugs for halloween. Put them on your porch to light the way for those little goblins.

This Halloween Craft is so easy and fun, that kids of all ages can participate.

ITEMS WE USED TO CREATE OUR GLOWING GHOST JUGS
• Empty Water Jug
• Scissors
• Glow-in-the-Dark Mod Podge (Jugs glow for minutes when exposed to bright light)
• Black Paint OR Sharpie Marker
• Battery operated tea light (Found ours at the $1 store)

Please note: In this tutorial, we painted our jugs with 3 coats of Glow-in-the-Dark Mod Podge®. The glow lasted a few minutes when the lights were out. After the glow faded we turned on the battery operated tea lights to keep the fun going.

STEPS TO CREATE OUR GLOWING GHOST JUGS:

STEP 1:   Cut a rectangle in the back of your water or milk jug. This is where we'll insert the battery operated tea light at the end of the tutorial.

STEP 2:   Coat the entire jug with 3 coats of Glow-in-the-Dark-Mod-Podge (This step is optional). It just means your ghost jug won't glow immediately after exposed to bright light. However; it will when you do step 4!

STEP 3:   Use Black paint or a Black Sharpie Marker to draw a ghost face on the front of your jug. Make him funny or spooky.

STEP 4:   At night, turn on the battery operated tea light switch and insert it into the center of your milk jug via the rectangle in the back and turn on the switch night after the Glow-in-the-Dark Mod Podge Glow fades. We also inserted a rock into the back to prevent the jug from flying off the porch.

Display your ghost jugs on the porch or in the window!
